Sailor Moon (Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon, literally "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon"), is a multimedia franchise created by Naoko Takeuchi in 1992. Considered to have considerably modernized the magical girls genre, many believe it helped girls to develop a feminisit attitude.

The story revolves around a group of teenage girls, destined to be Sailor Guardians named after moons and planets, who use magical powers to protect the Earth from evil forces. Sailor Moon (Usagi Tsukino) will join hands with Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, Sailor Jupiter, and the enigmatic Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Moon's secret crush.

In addition to 200 anime episodes, 3 movies has been produced as well as a TV drama, video games and discs.
